These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your use of SnapBug ("the app" or "the service"). They form a legally binding agreement between the solo developer kukuDev ("the operator") and you ("the user" or "you"). By using the service you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not access or use the service.
1. About the Service
SnapBug is a mobile bug-report writing tool for AI coding agents. It is used without sign-up or login, and core data such as reports is stored on your device. The service provides:
- Always-on screenshot watching: detects new screenshots and notifies you. It does not record your screen; it only checks whether a new image appeared.
- Report writing: record a problem description, type, and severity on a detected capture. You can type it or speak it.
- Automatic device context: device model, OS version, screen size and orientation, network connection type, battery level, language setting, and capture time are added to the report.
- Annotation editing: mark the problem on the screenshot with a pen, rectangle, arrow, blur, or crop. Annotations are stored as a separate layer and can be edited at any time.
- Project management: organize reports by the app you are testing, then search and filter.
- Image export: carry the report information inside an image file and share it with the app of your choice.
The service is free and may display banner ads and a native ad on exit, and it offers an in-app purchase to remove ads.
2. Acceptance and Age
2.1. By using the service you acknowledge that you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. The app is intended for developers and testers and is not directed to children under 14. By using the service you represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
2.2. If a minor uses the service, a legal guardian's consent may be required for some features such as payment (see section 9). If you use the service on behalf of an entity, you represent and warrant that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
3. Accounts and User Data
3.1. No account: the app has no sign-up or login and creates no account.
3.2. Responsibility for your data: you own the content you create, including reports and annotations. The operator does not own it and does not transmit or read it (see the Privacy Policy). Because content is stored on your device, it can be lost if the device is lost, reset, or the app is uninstalled. You are responsible for preserving important reports yourself, for example by exporting them.
3.3. No backup feature: the app does not provide cloud backup or sync. If you replace your device or uninstall the app, the report data inside the app cannot be recovered.
4. Modification and Deletion of Original Screenshots (important)
Rather than making copies, the service works directly with the original files in your gallery. By using the service you agree to the following.
4.1. Modifying the original file: when you save a report or edit a note, the app writes your description and the device context into the metadata area of that screenshot file. The visible content of the photo (its pixels) does not change; the file grows slightly. This write goes through the approval Android requires, and if you decline, the original is not modified.
4.2. Deleting the original file: when you delete a report, the app first asks whether to move the corresponding screenshot to the Android system trash. If you approve, the original disappears from your gallery; on Android 11 and later you can restore it from your Gallery or Photos app trash within 30 days. If you decline, the entire delete operation is cancelled.
4.3. Scope of responsibility: these operations run only with your explicit approval, but file system operations carry inherent risk. You are responsible for backing up important screenshots separately, and the operator's liability is as set out in sections 12 and 13.
4.4. When an original is gone: if an original is permanently deleted from your gallery, that capture can no longer be displayed or exported. The app marks the state on the detail screen and in lists, and when exporting several reports it skips only that capture and tells you how many were skipped. The text and device details you wrote remain in the app.
5. Export and Transfer to Third Parties
5.1. When you use the export feature, an image file containing the report information is handed to an app you choose (a messenger, a file app, a cloud drive, an AI coding tool, and so on). That transfer is an action you direct, and handling afterwards is governed by that app's or service's terms.
5.2. The exported image contains your report body and device context as metadata. You are responsible for being aware of this when choosing where to share, and for taking care with screenshots that contain sensitive information.
5.3. Some messengers and image editors strip image metadata during transfer. In that case the report information may not travel with the image, and the operator is not responsible for how third-party apps handle it.
6. Voice Input
6.1. Voice input uses the Android operating system's speech recognition service. Audio may be sent off your device for transcription, and whether and how this happens depends on your device and OS settings. The operator does not control this and does not collect or retain voice data.
6.2. The accuracy of speech recognition is not guaranteed. Please review the transcribed text before saving.
7. Use of the Service
7.1. Permitted use: the operator grants you a non-exclusive right to use the app for personal and commercial development work in accordance with these Terms. You must use the service in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
7.2. Prohibited conduct: you must not do any of the following; your use of the service may be restricted if you do.
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or extracting the source of the app (except where permitted by law)
- Abnormal calls to servers or APIs, automation abuse, rate-limit circumvention, or security circumvention
- Collecting screenshots from another person's device without their consent, or capturing and transferring screens containing another person's personal or confidential information without authorization
- Using the app for unlawful purposes or in ways that infringe the rights of others
7.3. Ads: the service may display banner ads and a native ad when you exit the app (no interstitial, rewarded, or app-open ads are used). You acknowledge and agree that these ads are part of providing the service free of charge.
8. In-App Purchase (Remove Ads)
8.1. The app offers a non-consumable in-app product (product ID: remove_ads) that removes ads. A single purchase applies permanently and can be restored on the same Google account. Pricing follows the amount shown in the Google Play Store.
8.2. Payment is processed through Google Play, and the operator's verification server checks the purchase token before granting the entitlement (receipt verification). The entitlement is tied to your Google account (device) and is unrelated to any separate account in the app.
8.3. Right after reinstalling the app or switching devices, ads may appear briefly until the entitlement is restored. Once restoration is confirmed, ads disappear automatically. If restoration does not happen, use "Restore purchase" on the remove-ads screen or contact us.
9. Withdrawal, Refunds, and Purchases by Minors
9.1. Payment cancellation and refunds follow Google Play's refund policy and procedures.
9.2. Withdrawal for digital content: ad removal is a digital benefit that takes effect immediately on purchase, so the right of withdrawal may be limited to the extent permitted by applicable law. This is disclosed in advance through these Terms. Refund and withdrawal rights guaranteed by law are not limited.
9.3. Purchases by minors: if a minor makes a purchase without a legal guardian's consent, the minor or the guardian may request cancellation under applicable law. Requests can be submitted to the contact email.
10. Privacy Policy
For how your personal information is collected, used, and disclosed, see the Privacy Policy. By using the service you agree that your information is processed in accordance with it.
11. Third-Party Services and Content
11.1. The service may integrate with services and features provided by third parties, including Google Play, Google AdMob, Google Firebase, and the Android operating system's speech recognition service. When you use those third-party services you are subject to their terms and privacy policies. The operator is not responsible for third-party services.
11.2. The service may contain links to other websites or services. The operator has no control over, and is not responsible for, the content or practices of those third parties.
12. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". The operator makes no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, free of data loss, will detect every screenshot on every device, or is fit for a particular purpose.
In particular, always-on watching is affected by the Android operating system and manufacturer power-saving policies, and some screenshots may go undetected depending on battery optimization settings and background restrictions. You are responsible for backing up important data yourself.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the service. The operator's total liability will not exceed the amount you paid to use the service. This does not limit liability for the operator's intent or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under consumer protection law.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator (kukuDev) from all claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the service, your breach of these Terms, or your infringement of third-party rights.
15. Changes to These Terms
The operator may modify or replace these Terms. For material changes, notice will be given at least 30 days before the new Terms take effect, through an in-app notice or another reasonable method. If you do not agree to the changed Terms, you may stop using the service and uninstall the app.
16. Termination
The operator may restrict or suspend your use of the service where there is a reasonable ground, including breach of these Terms. Uninstalling the app deletes the report data and thumbnail cache inside the app, and the original screenshots in your gallery remain.
17. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed under the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes are resolved first through discussion between the operator and the user. Users in Korea may seek help from the Korea Consumer Agency (www.kca.go.kr) and the Content Dispute Resolution Committee (www.kcdrc.kr). If litigation becomes necessary, jurisdiction follows the applicable rules of civil procedure, and no exclusive venue unfavorable to consumers is imposed.
18. Miscellaneous
18.1. Severability: if any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.
18.2. Assignment: you may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without the operator's prior written consent. The operator may transfer rights or obligations under these Terms in connection with a business transfer or similar event.
18.3. Entire agreement: these Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and the operator regarding the service and supersede all prior oral or written communications.
